On the 7th March 2016 I had the pleasure of delivering an Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Emergency Evacuation Exercise for a client. The scenario was designed to test the emergency response plan at this large pharmaceutical facility and to refresh the roles, responsibilities and mandates of the ERT. The scenario also resulted in a full emergency evacuation of the site.
Like every bespoke exercise, this one highlighted the importance of having a well prepared ERT to ensure that any adverse event will be responded to in a coordinated and structured manner where the safety of every person on site is foremost in the minds of the responders.
