This week we delivered a scenario based exercise for a client who wished to refresh their Crisis Management Team (CMT). The scenario involved a chemical incident resulting in a fire and injury to employees. Following activation of the fire alarm there was a full Emergency Evacuation and activation of the facility’s Emergency Response Team (ERT). The local Fire Service were also involved and responded to the incident as part of their own ongoing training and familiarisation with the site.
The CMT were challenged with realistic injects, designed to test all parts of the Crisis Management Team Plan including staff welfare, HR, media management, production stoppage, compliance with Statutory Agency investigations, corporate reputation and activation of their Business Continuity Plans.
The exercise was well received by all involved who understand the importance of not just having plans but testing the plans and the people tasked under the plans.
