Ennis, Co Clare, hosted the 2017 Fleadh Cheoil ná hEireann from 13th to 21st August. The event was an outstanding success for Ennis, with an attendance of 450,000 over the 8 days. There were 16 venues, including two large outdoor arenas. Each venue had its own event plan, which fitted into the overall event plan. The entire event was managed from the event control room, where the event controllers were supported by the Gardai (who monitored the Garda CCTV system), Clare Civil Defence (who provided total medical cover), National Ambulance Service and the event security.
The entire event licence and risk assessed plans were professionally completed by Adrian Jackson, Safety Solutions Ltd. Cuttle Consulting were honoured to be engaged by Safety Solutions in the role of event control. It was such a pleasure to work with such professionals in Safety Solutions, Clare County Council, Clare Fire and Rescue Service, Clare Civil Defence, Fleadh Executive Committee, An Garda Siochana and the HSE.
