On Sunday 3rd September 2017 Galway Minor and Senior hurling teams played in the All Ireland Finals. Both teams won.
Tickets for Croke Park were in high demand, with many families left disappointed at being unable to secure a precious ticket.
Galway City Business Association (GCBA) came to the rescue. If the disappointed families could not get to Croke Park then they were bringing the experience of Croke Park to Galway. GCBA decided to screen the finals on a big screen in Eyre Square in the heart of Galway City.

- Create an event medical plan
- Liaise with the Statutory Services
- Liaise with security provider
- Fulfill role of Event Controller on the day
The event was a huge success, with thousands attending and enjoying the “big event” experience. There was a brilliant atmosphere in the alcohol-free event, where the total focus was on the two matches.
